We love our Grandparents and we would love to give them something at Christmas but they seem to have everything. They just tell us they only want us for Christmas, however, I have a couple of small ideas to give with your love this Christmas.
Homemade jams and preserves.
They are used to a time of homemade goodness and this can be hard to come by these days. In my family we would take homemade goods to each other’s houses when we visited to contribute to the table. So turn back the clock and take a long a homemade goodies. You can make them yourself or find your nearest school fete/ farmers markets Stirling Farmer markets are open the last Sunday before Christmas.
A photo cushion.
There are a few places you can get your photos put onto a cushion. This is a great way for your loved ones to see you all the time either on their bed or in their lounge rooms etc.
If you have a family member in a nursing home, hostel or they are not able to get out much, they would probably love a bit of extra pampering. Find a mobile hairdresser in their area for a wash and set.
Digital photo frame.
Set up a digital photo frame in a place where they can see the pictures turning over all the time. This way the prime real estate for picture frames in your grandparent’s house can be shared by all the family without competition.
Have family portraits done with your grandparents. Having your make up done together and some beautiful family shoots will immortalise your family as a whole.
I am a huge fan of audio books. They are great for someone who has poor eye sight. They are also a great way to share your interests with your family members. I went to visit a client recently who has the book "The Hobbit" on her bookshelf to keep up with her grandchildren.
